Attendance


» All students should be in the school premises before the school starts, maximum by 7.55 a.m. in summers and by 8.20 a.m. in winters. The students will not be allowed to enter the school premises after the maximum time limit.

» Absence of the ward on the re-opening day after any break is not allowed.

» Parents/Guardian should see to it that his/her ward does not remain absent except under unavoidable circumstances as it badly hampers his/her progress.

» Parents/Guardian should send in advance request for leave of absence of his/her ward.

» Irregular attendance and habitual absence will be assumed as unwillingness to continue and may cause withdrawal of the student from the school.

» Students who have been sick should bring a medical certificate from their doctor on joining the school. An intimation, in writing, to the school office regarding sick leave will be appreciated.

» Any student suffering from an infectious disease will not be allowed to attend the school.

» Parents should compulsorily fill up the ‘Record of Absence from School’ for each day the student is absent from school stating the reason for absence.

» It is compulsory for the students of all classes to complete 75% of their attendance in the academic year to make them eligible to appear for their final examination.

» Leave for half a day / Early departures should be kept to a minimal as far as possible. The students are not allowed to come late to the school especially on the credit day. In case a child leaves the school early, it is mandatory to inform the Bus Incharge about the same.

» Adequate preparatory leaves are given before the commencement of Pre-Boards & Summative Assessments. Parents should discourage children from taking any additional leaves.

DISCIPLINE AND CODE OF CONDUCT


» The school is strongly in the favour of Self-Discipline.

» School hours are specified by the school authorities from time to time. (For example, during the examinations school hours may change)

» Students are strictly forbidden from leaving the school premises during school hours without the written permission of the Principal.

» Running or shouting in the school premises is not allowed. Use of bad / foul language is forbidden. Indiscipline in school premises can lead to serious disciplinary action.

» Students are not allowed to wear any ornaments, expensive watches or bring any valuable articles to school. The School will not be responsible for the loss of any such article brought by the students.

» Students should maintain discipline in the playground as well as in the campus and outside the campus of the school.

» Students are required to observe high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness. They are also advised to keep their classrooms / school campus neat and clean. Waste materials and left overs may be thrown into the dustbins only.

» All students should endeavour to vow with one another in good manners to keep the fair name of the school unblemished, in deed and by word.

» School Uniform is an integral part of discipline in a student’s life. It should be adhered to by all the students. They are expected to wear the school uniform in a proper manner with I-card as specified by the school.

» Late arrivals and uniform defaulters may be penalized for not following the school timings and wearing improper uniform.

»strict disciplinary action may be taken against any student who is found to damage school property, writing or drawing anything on the walls or school furniture or library books, bursting crackers or throwing colours on one another within the school premises, bullying or using any form of abusive language or violence against a fellow student or school staff and cheating during a test or any examination.

» Optimum silence should be maintained while shifting to other rooms for any activity or lab work.

» Students should move out for drinking water or easing out only with permission of teacher and are required to carry class pass with them.

» Students are not permitted to buy food articles from vendors or shops outside school premises.

» Non-Sikh boys are not allowed to keep long hair. They must maintain a proper haircut at all times.

» Girls are required to tie their hair neatly in 2 pony tails or 2 plaits according to the length of their hair with proper colour ribbon.

» Students should not use any vehicles to and from school unless they have a licence and have obtained permission from school authorities.

» No gifts, ‘Sweets’, Rubber-Pencils, should be sent on the child’s Birthday. No gifts of any kind should be given to any of the Teaching or Non-Teaching staff. The child has to be in school uniform and can distribute one or two toffees to his / her classmates.

» Any student found quarrelling with peer group, teaching or non-teaching staff; keeping objectionable articles, like Photographs, Magazines, Mobile Phones, C.D’s, Audio and Video Casettes, any indecent literature will be liable to strict disciplinary action. Even if the student is found indulging in unfair means in exams or any uncalled for activity outside school, which directly affects the reputation of school, he / she will be suspended with immediate effect.

Guidelines for Parents or Guardian


» Parents are requested to closely monitor their child’s progress by paying attention to their punctuality, regularity, discipline and school assignments. Please check the almanac of your ward everyday for homework or any other instructions, if given.

» Parents are not allowed to see the child or any teacher during school hours. It disturbs their working. They can meet the teachers as specified earlier.

» Parents should ensure that their wards are in proper school uniformNo fancy jewellery, trinkets, studs etc. should be worn by girls / boys. Please  keep the hair of boys neatly trimmed. Fancy hair style / cut of any sort or colouring of streaks / hair strands is strictly forbidden for both girls and boys.

» Please inform the class teacher and school office for any change in your address or phone numbers or mode of transport for school.

» Parents are requested to observe that children do not bring expensive items or large sum of money to school. Kindly restrict pocket money to minimal.

» Parents are requested to kindly explain to the child the need to look after his / her belongings. The school does not accept responsibility for any item lost in school.

» Please provide a supportive, value – based environment to your child at home. Using discretion and parental judgment, keep track of your child’s mental health and emotions, and do keep in touch with the Class teacher / Counsellor / HOD in case of any problem in child’s behaviour or academics.

» The school accepts no responsibility for any injury within the school premises. Only First Aid shall be provided in such cases. All major expenses will be the sole responsibility of parents / Guardians.

» If a student leaves the school premises without permission and is untraceable, the school will not be responsible for any mishap / accident.

» Parents are requested to maintain decency in their dressing while coming to school for any reason.

» Parents are advised not to bring lunch packets of their wards during the school hours if their ward has forgotten the same while coming to the school. It is not desirable for security reasons and causes inconvenience in the school’s working as well.

» Students should be encouraged to buy inexpensive bags to avoid unhealthy competitive tendencies.

» Parents are also requested to restrict celebration of Birthdays of their wards in school to simple distribution of toffees / candies.

» Parents need to ensure that during their ward’s absence from school, work done in the class is made up for.

» Parents should monitor the Internet sites being visited by their ward and limit Television viewing to appropriate programmes and duration.

» Note: Cellphones are strictly not permitted within the school premises by the students. A strict disciplinary action will be taken against the student, if found carrying it in the school.

Doctor's Advice


» Do not send sick children to school for attending classes or appearing for examinations. It is inconvenient to send them back home.

» All students returning to school after suffering from an infectious disease must submit a Fitness Certificate issued by his / her doctor permitting him / her to do so.

General Instructions


» School I-card is compulsory for all

» Low-waist pants / skirts are not permitted

» The cut of the pants / trousers should be straight

» White P.T. shoes can be worn for games / P.Ed periods

» School monogram is must on the uniform of every student

» As long as a student is on the school rolls, he / she must come to school in uniform

» Fancy hair cuts; hair colouring / streaking not allowed

» Girls having long hair should tie them in neat plaits

Parent Teacher Meetings


To ensure holistic and healthy development of the child, it is necessary that the parents and teachers should keep in touch. The school organizes Parent Teacher Meetings department wise as per each departments' needs & requirements. Parents should ensure that they attend all such meetings to discuss the progress, joys and worries of their ward openly with teachers.

Withdrawal


» A clear calendar month's notice in writing for withdrawal must be given by parents / guardians, failing which one month's notice fee will be charged in lieu thereof. Those notifying in month of May will be required to pay fee for the month of May & June also.

» Original receipt issued to parents of a child at the time of admission must be produced at the time of withdrawal.

» Application for withdrawal of security deposit must be submitted within six months of child's withdrawal after which no application will be entertained.
